on the Ann Richards Congress Ave Bridge
4 PM until Midnight
All ages welcome. Bring the family!
10 Bands on 2 Stages!
SPECIAL VIP Package:
VIP tickets include Two special tented areas. One area in the backstage of the South Stage, and one area in backstage of the North stage. The ticket will include free alcoholic (limited to 5 drink tickets) and non alcoholic drinks, chairs, and food served at 6pm (Food Sponsored by China Town), 7:30pm (Food Sponsored by The Roof Top Over Lake Travis), and 9pm (Food Sponsored by Verts Berlin-Inspired Kebap) . Admission includes a Free event T-shirt. Alcoholic drinks must remain inside the VIP area. The Bar tender reserves the right to refuse service if you appear intoxicated. Privit portable toilet.
Description:
What will you see at BatFest this year? 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerging from under the bridge at dusk, 2 stages with live music, more than 75 arts & crafts vendors, delicious food and drinks, fun children’s activities, a bat costume contest and other bat activities, ALL FOR FREE!!
Because bats are wild animals, it is hard to predict exactly when the emergence will begin but the flight usually begins between 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The emergence can last up to ½ hour as 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats head out for their nightly flight. Bat Conservation International will have a festive booth on the bridge helping celebrate Austin’s favorite furry flying friends!

Bike Parking: We have Bicycle Rack to secure your bike. Be GREEN!

Rates by the hour: single kayak $10, 2-person kayak, $15, Half-day $25
Bat Tours! - Fridays and Saturdays (Sunday will be offered during Austin Bat Fest), 7:30 to 9 p.m., you're invited to join us in a guided tour around Congress Avenue Bridge to view the resident bats. We're right at the bridge, so less paddling. Fee is $30 for 2-person kayak, $20 for single. Advance reservations are now open through August at our front desk, so call us at 512.809.8916.
